Dom Perignon Vintage 2013
A driven and serious DP with aromas of chalk, biscuits, apricot stones and lemons. Some spice and dried flowers, too. So sleek and sophisticated. Elegant. Yet, it’s long and powerful, with a sharp minerality. Tight and precise.
RATING 98 | James Suckling
Champagne
Dom Perignon Vintage 2012
The 2012 Dom Pérignon has turned out very well indeed, unwinding in the glass with notes of Anjou pear, smoke, toasted nuts, freshly baked bread and crisp stone fruit. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, it's still tightly wound, its incipiently fleshy core of fruit framed by racy acids and chalky grip, complemented by a classy pinpoint mousse.
RATING 96 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Dom Perignon 2008 x Lady Gaga
An impeccably balanced and graceful sparkling rosé with plushly cream mousse flavors. It's hard to tell where the firm spine of well-honed acidity and the expressive range of pureed raspberry, candied ginger, tangerine and lemon thyme flavors begin or end. A rich hint of smoky toasted brioche plays on the finish. Drink now through 2033.

Dom Perignon Rose 2008
This shows incredible depth of fruit with strawberry, cherry and phenolics. Full-bodied and layered with an incredible, three-dimensional element to the wine. This is so transparent and dynamic with dark fruit, yet it remains vivid and bright. Refined and precise, it goes on and on. Really savory, fresh and incredibly pinot-noir-like.

MESSI STYLE
Chardonnay
Wayfarer 2019 | Sonoma
The 2019 Chardonnay Wayfarer Vineyard is open and gregarious, with scents of yellow peach, jasmine, honeycomb, almond and touches of struck flint. The full-bodied palate is satiny and packed with lush, perfumed fruits, and it offers generous honey, nutty tones on the very long finish. The fruit for this bottling comes from four different clones planted on the Wayfarer property.
RATING 95 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Carbone 2020 | Napa
Fresh and expressive, featuring Honeycrisp apple, yuzu and lemon blossom flavors and a hint of marzipan and nutmeg, this shows wonderful restraint and focus. The long, juicy finish reveals a hint of fresh-grated ginger.
RATING 93 | Wine Spectator
Stonestreet 2018 | Sonoma
The 2018 Chardonnay Stonestreet Upper Barn Vineyard was aged for 10 months in French oak, 46% new. It has a very classy nose of ripe peaches, fresh yellow apples and allspice followed by fresh ginger, cashew and acacia honey plus a waft of sea spray. Full-bodied, rich, satiny and with fantastic intensity and tension, it finishes very long and chalky. YUM!
RATING 97 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Savignon Blanc
Grgich Hills Estate 2019 | Napa
The 2019 Fume Blanc Estate delivers fabulously flamboyant scents of pink grapefruit, passion fruit and lime cordial with wafts of lemon blossoms, mandarin peel and struck flint. The medium-bodied palate is packed with pure, zesty, expressive tropical and citrus layers plus tons of minerally accents and herbal sparks lifting the finish. It's irresistibly delicious now, but I'd love to see it with 2-3 years of bottle age too.
RATING 93 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Henri Bourgeois 2019 | Loire
A palate-coating, beautifully chiseled wine, with lovely purity to the flavors of nectarine, lemon and lime zest. Nearly viscous in texture and broad on the palate, this ripples with racy acidity and wet stone accents. A powerful wine, with nice cut through the finish.
RATING 92 | Wine Spectator
Marciano Estate 2020 | Napa
Made from one acre of Sauvignon Blanc located on the Marciano Estate, the 2020 Sauvignon Blanc was mostly fermented in new oak with about a third fermented in stainless steel. The nose delivers beautiful lemongrass, fresh hay, grapefruit and lime leaves scents with hints of coriander seed and cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, the palate offers loads of seriously intense layers and energetic freshness with a decadent touch of oiliness to the texture and a savory, almond-laced finish.
RATING 93 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Chenin Blanc
Clos du Bourg 2020 | Vouvray
The intensely yellow colored 2020 Vouvray Le Mont Moelleux Première Trie is highly concentrated and complex on the nose that exhibits candied lemon zest and chutney aromas along with calcareous and walnut notes. Sweet (really sweet!) yet refined and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich and generous yet piquant and firmly structured, greatly tensioned and salty 1ère Trie with pineapple flavors on the finely tannic and energetic, very sustainable finish. The 2020 has great aging potential, and I would never serve it too young.
RATING 98 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Le Haut-Lieu 2020 | Vouvray
The 2020 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Demi-Sec is clear, pure, subtle, deep and fresh, with highly refined chalky/sandy lemon aromas. Rich and intense yet silky textured and refined on the concentrated palate, this is a juicy, highly elegant, perfectly balanced, persistently salty and mouth-salivating Haut-Lieu with very fine tannins and a long, firm and pretty powerful but elegant and complex finish. Still more stringent than the Le Mont Demi-Sec in the beginning, but after aeration, this is not just a greatly finessed Chenin but one of the finest Haut-Lieu's I have tasted from Huet.
RATING 96 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Baumard 2018 | Loire
This balanced white is clean and pure, with a refreshing profile, but also shows depth, with flavors of apple and peach, as well as hints of lanolin that linger on the minerally finish, bringing you back for another sip.
RATING 90 | Wine Spectator
Rosé
Chateau Minuty 2021 | Provence
Rated 91 points or more all three vintages I've reviewed, Minuty's Cotes de Provence Rose 281 is named for the striking blue shade used to set off the pale, copper-hued wine inside the bottle. Delicate raspberry shadings are set against a backdrop of white peaches and tangerines in this 2021 Cotes de Provence Rose 281. It's medium-bodied, plump and generous, with an alluring, silky texture and a long finish accented by hints of crushed stone.

Mauritson 2021 | Sonoma
Pale cherry-pink in color, the 2021 Rosé is dangerously easy to drink! It has scents of red berries, watermelon, citrus peel and dried herbs with a stony undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate balances concentrated fruits and refreshing acidity, and it finishes with a touch of texture that will allow it to more readily pair with food.
RATING 93 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Tablas Creek 2021 | Paso Robles
A bright and spicy rose with some anise and fennel to the cherry and orange peel characters. Elegant, pure and bone-dry on the palate with a bright thread of acidity and a linear, refreshing finish. 79% grenache, 15% mourvedre and 6% counoise.

Pinot Noir
DuMOL 2020 | Russian River
The 2020 Pinot Noir Wester Reach is one of Dumol's larger cuvées, and production was normal despite the challenges of the vintage (3,750 cases). It has alluring purity on the nose, with scents of cranberries, rhubarb, tobacco leaves, orange peel and aniseed. The medium-bodied palate is concentrated and powerful without losing detail, framed by powdery tannins and refreshing acidity. It offers an array of spice and floral accents on the finish. Lovely! Best After 2022.

Merry Edwards 2019 | Sonoma
Creamy red fruit and light stemmy spice adorn this soft, silky wine from coastal sites. It shows an opulent mouthfeel and teases of rose and forest floor. Cranberry, pomegranate and rhubarb come to mind on the palate, as full-bodied tannins and oak contrast it all.
RATING 94 | Wine Enthusiast
Beaux Freres 2019 | Ribbon Ridge
Medium ruby-purple, the 2019 Pinot Noir The Belles Soeurs has alluring wild red and black berry fruits with wafts of garrigue, Earl Grey tea leaves and Angostura bitters. The palate is silky and intense with layered, graphite-tinged fruit and a very long finish that's notable for its purity and persistent perfume.
RATING 96 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Merlot
Pahlmeyer 2019 | Napa
Pahlmeyer's 2019 Merlot comes mainly from the estate vineyard, with smaller proportions from the Rancho Chimiles, Broken Rock and Stagecoach Vineyards. It's all Merlot this year, with aging in barrels from Taransaud (75% new). Beautiful notes of loamy earth and mocha accent black cherries and plums on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is somewhere between velvet and silk in texture, and the lingering finish adds savory hints of cocoa and black olive.
RATING 94 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Pedestal 2018 | Columbia Valley
An utterly spectacular showing from this exciting vintage. 82% Merlot with the remainder Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, this revels in its Turkish coffee aromas with sandalwood, dark currants, chocolate fudge and blueberry compote rounding out the bouquet. This presents a hedonistic bent with an intense mouthfeel and glorious length. Unabashedly big, the acidity and firm tannins hold this gorgeous core of blue and dark fruits in place. Drinking Window: 2021 - 2040.
RATING 96 | Decanter
L' Apparita 2018 | Tuscany
This wine has earned its spot in a world of pantheons that is grande vini Italiani. The Castello di Ama 2018 L'Apparita is one of the world's greatest Merlots, and this slightly cooler growing season delivers on all the promise and pedigree that we should expect of this collectors' favorite. L'Apparita opens to an inky dark and blackish appearance, and the bouquet slowly reveals black fruit, ripe cherry, dark spice, smoke and barbecue rub. The wine's texture and finish, which is so velvety and rich, so supple and soft, is what will ultimately win you over. Indeed, this wine excels especially in terms of the elegance and fullness of the mouthfeel.

Cabernet Sauvignon
Shafer 2018 | Napa
Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select displays a deep garnet-purple color. It charges out of the gate with bold crème de cassis, blueberry pie and black cherry preserves notes, plus hints of smoked meats, fragrant earth and tar, with a fragrant waft of violets and Provence herbs. Full-bodied, the palate is packed with muscular black fruits, supported by a solid foundation of firm, grainy tannins and compelling freshness, finishing long with an enticing herbal lift.
RATING 98 | Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Don Melcher 2019 | Maipo Valley
Very perfumed and aromatic with blackcurrant, sweet-tobacco and Spanish-cedar character. Full-bodied with ultra fine tannins that build on the palate and take the fruit and other flavors to an endless finish. More refined than the perfect 2018 and almost as compelling. Drink in 2023 or after.
RATING 98 | James Suckling
Chappellet 2019 | Napa
A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill is another wonderfully evocative triumph from this family-owned Pitchard Hill pioneer. Deep garnet-purple colored, it storms out of the glass with profound scents of crème de cassis, blackberry preserves, licorice and mulberries, plus hints of unsmoked cigars, wild sage and tar. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers fantastic intensity and great poise, offering fine-grained, ripe tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and mineral laced.
